Lately there has been an increase in puzzle games from swapping sweets to shooting bubbles and I was just about to give up on the genre. I don’t know what happen to the classic puzzle games like chips challenge.
Then I meet Jared from element105 who has gone back to basics and created Escapes. The game was originally created during a gaming jam, where participants had 24 hours to create a game from scratch, incorporating a theme chosen by the organisers.






The game has a very simple concept. Get the cube into the haze. It’s amazing how sometime so simple can be so compelling. It starts off nice and easy with only one cube and a few simple mazes but as you advance the levels get more intense and additional cubes are add. For a little extra challenge the additional cubes move in opposite directions to the first, making you have to think out every move.
